Abstract: The National Apex Body (NAB) was formed by the AITUC and INTUC (and later the HMS) together with the national Industrial Committees after the Emergency, and th mass closure of factories and layoffs. The booklet outlines the NAB's decisions and conclusions, with the most important questions related to layoffs, retrenchment and closures. The booklet includes: Meeting minutes from first eight meetings. National Industrial Committees: Electricity and coal bipartites; Textile sector meetings; Chemicals; Engineering. Scheme for workers' participation in industry. The Industrial Disputes (Amendment) Act, 1976.
